Details: Review and audit a representative sample of outpatient records to determine the appropriateness of outpatient code(s) based on medical information documented, to include both direct care and ancillary services performed. Review and Audit telephone consult coding for accuracy and appropriateness. Review, at least annually, each outpatient clinic's customized Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA) Encounter Template, to assist clinics in developing efficient encounter collection processes. Assist in developing and providing outpatient clinical coding training (initial and refresher) to providers on no less than a quarterly basis.
Prepare and make available in writing accuracy reports based on audits. Provide trend analysis regarding CCE accuracy, by clinic. Recommend verbally or in writing suggested improvements/corrections (i.e. replacement of outdated codes) to customize AHTLA encounter templates. Interact with physicians and other health care providers on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis to ensure compliance rates and develop and report provider productivity. Maintain proficiency with the CCE software and server. Provide brief mgs as deemed necessary to appropriate medical and administrative committees/functions. Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company. Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description and supervisor's instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output. |
